    For camping I'd like a button on the touch screen that sets the car in low power mode so when you open doors etc the various lights, entertainment systems, computers etc don't start up. ( I know you can set the first two now)

    Oh and sorry for your enterprize ,Gordon, but I want 18" rim option for SDV6.
    Ive have a couple of new VE Holdens and not that they were any good but they are half smart so of a day time if i guess the auto light sensor senses its not dark it doesn't turn the interior lights on!! I reckon brilliant idea when washing and cleaning the car having the doors open and so forth!!

    But for me i would definitely change the fuel tank size even just 100L would be perfect also i agree about moving the bonnet release over, the indicators not so much of an issue.

    Also wish the channels up the side of the windscreen held the water better if you wash your windscreen just goes over the side windows that peeves me off!!

    And last but not least build a stronger cabin my car is only a year old and has so many squeaks and rattles!! I mean i love the car but rattles drive me flipping insane and its just peeving me off so much i hate it!! I mean i love it so much but bloody rattles jeeze they annoy me!

    I'd like to be the first one to say 'absolutely nothing'...

    But I do realise nothing is completely perfect, so I agree with;
    smaller rim- larger profile tyre
    better front bushes

    and will add;
    increased roof load rating
    stereo on for as long as you like

    For me the biggest issue is the 19" rims.

    EPB is a bit of a pain but I can live with it.

    More fuel would be nice, but considering how well its all packaged, what would you sacrifice to get a bigger fuel tank?

    Cheers,
    Jon

    PLEASE
    Obviously you have only just come across to a better European Vehicle
    It's an English car, not a European car.

    What are you some kind of apologist for rotten LHD market ergonomics being thrust upon us poor RHD market people who are very obviously driving on the correct side of the road just because the poms have sold out to those wrongheaded LHD road users, doesn't mean we have to

    This is a bit like buy chinese conversations, I have a lot of chinese things but it doesn't mean i have to like it or accept it uncritically !

    For me the vehicle could be lighter

    Front suspension bushes that last.

    Larger fuel tank

    A coolant bottle that doesn't hang down as far

    iPod connectivety and USB port, without needing the whole entertainment/navigation system.

    Cruise control that holds it's indicated speed not go over then under 4 to 7ks(VW is the best cruise I've seen)

    And an LRA that actually gives a ****

    Baz,
    Cheers Baz.

    I'm surprised no one has said these yet;
    1. Suspension that stays up because I told it to

    2. Off road settings that stay set until I reset them (they currently reset when you turn the car off as does the stability control - very annoying when camping out on a sand island)

    3. I too would love a slightly bigger tank, or a slightly improved fuel gauge to help knowing when it might actually be close to empty.

    4. And now I've used my D4 off road a bit, I would like a stick gear selector back. I always put the car in sport mode off road and select the gear I want. When I bought the car I didn't mind that it had a dial selector because it had paddles that would allow me to still select gears, but it really doesn't work - very hard to select gears and turn the wheel at the same time.

    All of that said, there are plenty of 4WD's on the market that have all of these things sorted but I wouldn't buy one, so that tells you how long the list of stuff that I wouldn't change is!

    You guys are on about bonnet release,indicater stalk???

    I can put up with those trivial things

    My gripe is fuel tank size,tyre size,all been said before

    Trivial gripes,no ignition accessory switch,rear wiper comes on if the fronts are on and reverse is selected,cannot turn off rear park sensors,normal handbrake would be nice.Timing belts are also a pain.Jack is also completely useless.

    Apart from all that not a bad vehicle

    My son's 2003 Saab maintains +/- 1 kph unless the down-slope is too steep for engine braking, adjusting power output up to 100 times a second to maintain the set speed.

    Fuel tank size not really an issue for me - I've fitted a bigger one.

    Lowering the spare not an issue either - it's no longer under the vehicle.

    Indicators / bonnet release - I've been driving vehicles with this configuration for years, so couldn't care less.

    Cruise control - mine works fine and is always within 1 or 2 km/hr of set point (maybe it's because the country is a bit flatter over here).

    The one thing that I would like to see changed, and that I haven't seen anyone raise on here so far .................................

    A decent bloody jack.
    Cheers .........

    Here is my wish list;

    hand brake conventional
    at least a 125 litre tank
    option of choosing preferably 17" or at least 18" wheels
    Spare wheel back on a rear door like D1/D2
    A wheel arch design that alloys 33" tyres to be fitted
    carrying capacity of at least 700 kilo's plus a full tank of fuel and a 85 kg driver.
    More conventional tow hitch locator in centre of bumper
    Standard dual battery system
    I'd prefer a gear shift lever not dial
    More usable storage area in front of cabin, like the D3
    Off road height to lower at higher speed, preferably 80 kph.
    All models should have as standard the reversing camera

    They won't build a Disco like this, but hopefully the new Defender might have most of this wish list covered and if it does then it will be good bye Disco and hello Defender for me.
    Cheers,
    Terry
