    I don't want to turn this into a debate about paint protection, but for Kieren; as Basil has said 'Generally' the paint protection sold is nothing more than a wax application. However, find out what product they are trying to flog off and if it is 'Advanced Protection' (formerly known as Fusion) than from personal experience I can tell you it is worth every cent. It's not just a wax. I paid 1700 to have it on my Sportwagon and after four years of full sun, other than stone chips the paint was like brand new. All I had to do was wash it and grime, bitumen etc... came off easily. It also comes with a 'lifetime' (yes it is written in black and white) warranty. The LR dealer had the same product, however I opted out this time, because I thought being a 4WD it will get fine scratches etc... and that I'd give frequent waxing a try instead. Also with this product, once applied waxing or cut/polish etc.. are a no-no, even though the salesperson at LR waxes their own regularly.

    I thought the same regarding protectant. A good protectant is much more than a polish. The hierarchy from best to good - protectant/ sealant, sealant, wax - and in same order regarding cost. At least use a sealsnt like Meguairs Ultimate Wax - called a wax because of marketing and people understand what a wax does.

    i use Klasse now

    is an acrylic and it does a way better job on my red vehicle than meguirs did by a country mile.

    use the red bottle for cleanups and the silver bottle if paint is still pretty new.

    red lasts 6 months and the silver about 12 months

    1 small bottle does a RRC about 5 times

    bit hard to get but well worth the effort.

    I just picked it up from getting wet sanding, polished and buffed, and back to new again. Although I always keep the polish up, I will be a lot more diligent before I take it on the beach again.

    With regards to the silver bottle can it be applied alone say on a new car or would you need to apply the red first then silver over the top?

    You only need the red bottle if you have oxidation and or swirling I believe

    Cheers thanks ill give it a crack!! From what I've read get it off quick as it dries hard and bloody hard to get off after that!!
