Have a look at the specs, may fit but don't know about legalities, etc.

    Minimum rim size 7.5".

A tyre shop may know more.

    Specs are here:
The Tyre and Rim Association of Australia - Official Site

You can fit 265/70R17 on an OEM 7" rim but not the 265/65R17 profile tyre. I picked up some 17" x 7.5" BMW X5 wheels on eBay, which sound like they're ok for either size of those tyres.

If you look at how cheap the Bridgestone D697 is for a 265/65R17, it makes the cost of the X5 wheels more than pay for themselves. They're currently listed for $239 on the Jax website.

Or stick with the OEM rims and run the 245/70/17....

    I won't be going oversize.

The 697's have always been a cheap tyre compared with US tyres.
