I had my D2 from new, and to be honest, I was never aware of any recalls at the time as all were dealt with during normal servicing and at no cost to myself. I only had a few minor warranty items that needed sorting as well.
I took over servicing from 260,000 kms about 7 years ago. Ironically the one recall I did miss was for the chaffing fuel lines, and yes mine did hole out shortly afterwards.
Even the two RRC's, and the D1 I had prior (all second or third hand) where very reliable. I used to take the 83 Rangie into some pretty remote spots in the Pilbara without any hesitation - and that was when it was a 10 year old vehicle with no previous service records. The only limitation was the fuel range. Later the 200tdi D1 took me to all the same places - it just used a lot less fuel.
I must have missed the reliability issues in the 20 or so years I have been driving LR products.
