Triumph Rover Spares in south oz you can get a brand new TDV6 2.7 crate long engine complete for $1195 or $9900 bare . Google the above and check their specials .

It seems that some people have got some partial relief from LR towards repairs depending on the exact circumstances. Don't know about Australia.

Too good thanks guys. I have started with Landrover (we'll see where that goes) and Triumph Spares is looking good. I will provide up-dates as I go along.

Update.
Well the up-shot was that the timing belt failure had caused catastrophic engine damage. So I sourced an MY10 motor with 45k kms from Triumph Rover Spares. Gotta say both my mechanic and I got excellent service, advice and support from these guys. Vehicle is 99% back together. Just needs covers etc back on. I am giving it a run this weekend. Great so far. I just have to decide which kidney I will be selling now. ;-)

TRS are real good to deal with. Glad to hear you sorted it out.

All going well so far. Although I have to check that the engine isn't one that was subject to the HPFP recall.
