In the Supercheap sale flyer received today, they are advertising a 4,000kg bottle jack on special for $23.97 from tomorrow (normal RRP is ~ $60). Made in China (surprise, surprise) but doesn't look too bad in the flesh. At least it has a fill point where you can drain / top up / replace the oil if you need to.

I had a look at one today, but didn't have a tape measure with me, and they wouldn't let me have one at the sale price until tomorrow. But at first glance of the specs in the flyer, it might do the job, with a working height range of 214mm to 430mm.

The only problem is that they don't state if that range is with the screw extension wound all the way in at both ends of the range, or if the "top" of the range is achieved with hydraulic stroke plus the screw wound out. Even looking at the box today and the instruction sheet, nowhere does it state the stroke.

Will be back there tomorrow with a tape measure and check for myself. I already have the Kinchrome 6,000kg jack outside on the bench - will see how the two compare.

They also have a 6 tonne bench press on special for $128 and an ultrasonic cleaner for $99 - tempted.
