Hi Izzy,
Yes it is. Be careful with the K&N filter or any wet filter this can effect the MAF sensor. I looked at this and stayed with the standard dry filter.
Hiya just wondering if anyone can help me a thinking of getting a k&n panel filter and just wondering if the 2.7 diesel or the 4.4v8 have the same size air box as the 4.0v6?

I would research the efectifness of K&N filters on Land Rover products.
Plenty of discussion with D2 owners and the effects of the filter oil on MAF sensors.
D3/D4 may be different,I would take some convincing.

Yeh thanks for the replies I should have fort about that I put one on one of my old cars and it didn't like that so I'll do abit more reading in to it thanks
I've used K&N Filters for years in D1, D2, Defender and now my D4 2.7l and have never had any issues with the MAF or dusting an engine.
Also used them in all of my dirt bikes with the same success.
The secret is - clean them often and use the filter oil SPARINGLY...don't drench the filter. I buy the genuine cleaning kits and find that the aerosol spray far better to lightly and uniformly coat the filter medium.
Can't speak highly enough about this quality product!
I would avoid these types of air filters. They can only improve air flow due to less restriction to flow leading to more dust allowed to get past. I know people use them as mentioned on here but if you want to protect against serious dust then stick with the paper element.
.....time to get the popcorn ready. It looks like time for a K&N filter debate.....
