    hey guys
we are looking at window tint as well for our D4

would it be possible for some of you guys to post some side on views of your D4s with what your window tint shades are so we could get an idea of what each percentage you guys went look?

we cant decide if we should go 35% legal on front windows and 20% rear
OR just go 30% all round?

Our D4 has a cream/almond leather interior (apparently this may make the tint appear lighter than usual??)

I was thinking the 20% all round might be too dark??and look very gansta lol

Nah, haven't been to Albany recently. Yep, I would certainly be waving every time I see a D4, no matter where I am

It's upto you on what tint you get, but I am very happy with mine being 35% Front and 20% all round. It is a way of having dark tint, but still being legal in the front windows. Having a 1yo son in the car, it certainly helps keep the heat out of the back seat!!!

This is 35% tint all round from a while back, we are happy with it. The a/c keeps up with Brisbane summer easily.
Not the easiest thing to photograph for comparison purposes, depending on the angle it can look pretty dark.
    We have the almond interior.

    Cheers,
    Scott

    Yeah cheers Scott,
thats exactly where we are after,
just some examples of what colour tint actually looks like on a vehicle,
we grabs some samples from the tint place, but they are relatively small off cuts and very hard to use to get an idea who each wind actually looks!
the sample tints seem heaps shinier in the flesh?

your black wheels sets your beast off too, it looks great,
makes me think i should look at plastidipping my factory silver wheels black lol

i am guessing you have a dark interior?
    cheers
    Ray

Hi Ray, no we have the almond interior.

My wheels are the grey version of the Compomotive but look darker in that photo.
To get an idea of plastidipped, have a look at ~Rich~'s photos. Seen in the recent 18" mud tyre thread.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Booked in for tomorrow at Premier tint... cheapest is $295 dearest with 66% heat and darkest legal for $350. They will do the rears in 20% vs 35% also at that price (or the whole lot if you want to take the risk) Will look at the films when there on cars they have, think i will stick to 35% all round. Stay tuned for pics

Not all Automotive Films are created equal!

Just bear in mind, not all films are created equal and hence often the price difference, and cheap is not necessarily the best - you get what you pay for.

Not pushing their product, but Johnson Films have some interesting info (as do other manufacturers -3M comes to mind) on their web site about the properties of their products - Johnson Window Films, Dealer Resource Center

Agree, the trick is to know what is good and what is not. The dealer quoted $880 and didnt even know which brand it was. (The girl said is was Land Rover approved...cough!!)
