Both my D3 and D4 have had manual seats that that lower over a few days. Its a very common fault and has been with the car since the beginning. Being a short arse I always thought I was resting on the lever when getting out of the vehicle. In both cars the dealer replaced the mechanism but no luck. Eventually they replaced with an electric adjustment in the D3 and then the D4 and I haven't had a problem since.
Is it that big of a problem?
Just give the handle a couple of pumps ever few days & you are back where you started from.
Sorry, just don't think it's something to stress over.

I just had to shift the D4 out of the shed.I tried the height adjuster,it seems to only lift the rear of the seat,offering less support for the thighs as it gets higher.Is this right,or is there a second adjuster???
I lowered it back as I normally have it,much more comfortable for me.

Finished lunch,off to chuck a heap of stuff thru the mulcher.Worm food,I keep all our left over newspaper and cardboard,plus there is a fair bit of vegie garden refuse to put thru it.

We took our 2014 D4 back to the dealer as my seat dropped down after about 3 hours drive. the mechanism got replaced and now it takes a whole day to go down.
as previously said it is only a couple of pumps to get it up again, better than having to leave the vehicle for another day at the dealers then have to clean up the mess on the roof lining that was left behind. :mad:
Maybe it's not a big deal, but the point is after shelling out over 80 large should that be good enough and to me it's not.Quote:

People say it's an LR thing, to me that's a cop out, if other manufacturers can do it, why can't LR.
Either that or make electric seats standard, which at the current price point they should be anyway.

Signs that your Discovery thinks you are too fat:
As you jump in the car, you have to give the seat adjustment a few quick pumps to raise the height after you last used it.
As you start the car, the car has to adjust the suspension height.
And when you park the car, as you walk away you hear a sharp, pointed, sigh of relief, glance quickly over your shoulder and catch the car re-adjusting the suspension to relevel the car.
