I know that on my father's L322 the extra 4 cameras are positioned for helping with front wheel placement - the 2 in the bumper are directly in front of each wheel and the ones on either side mirror show the front wheel and the ground around it. I expect they would be useful when negotiating log bridges, rock steps/boulders etc.
