Diesel and pulling bits off the engine
So um
1. How do the MAFs actually come out on the TDV8? I can't see any obvious screws or catches... can I just take the filter cover off still attached to the intakes, and squirt the MAFs in situ?
2. I got some LiquiMoly diesel decarboniser which I assume is what I need to freshen up the EGR valves etc but the instructions say to squirt it in with the engine running at between 2000 and 3000 rpm - how does one do that from the engine bay? It's not as easy as the good old days of just reaching around the back of the carbie (I know!) for the throttle cable!?
3. There's a pic on the Disco3UK thread of where the MAP sensor is on the TDV6, is that a reasonable indication of where I'd find it on the TDV8?
4. The Autobarn lads sold me some injector cleaner as well - is there any harm that can come from chucking some of that in with a full tank?
5. "The Lads" also mentioned a lot of ppl (!?) are using diesel fuel additive lubricants in European cars because of Australia's rubbish diesel quality... does that hold any water, so to speak?
TIA to any with advice or humorous speculation :)
