It is on the Gap iiD Tool with Bluetooth. I'm just sorting out a more robust way of mounting the iPhone as a "live values" display for trans temp, coolant temp and whatever else. And an extension cable to move the tool away from my right foot.

I towed 1.5t of camper trailer to the Cape and outback Qld and found normal Drive to be really good, only putting it into Sport for more hilly terrain (eg Atherton Tableland or going up the range). Drive adapts itself to the towing duty after not too long and Sport just gives it some extra grunt as Andrew said.

Hardly ever needed to use the paddles when towing. Certainly no need to avoid top gear or force any particular gear like I read for LC's. Other end of the spectrum, I remember one really steep descent on the Bloomfield Track where I tried HDC instead of manually engine braking in one gear. Amazing.

Thanks for the info, will experiment with Sport soon. I think I will have to get one of the "Gap iiD Tool with Bluetooth" I like my gadgets.

It was interesting reading about the LC200 tranny temps on your other post. I had not considered that but will be monitoring in the future. I drive conservatively these days especially with the family on board.

As a young lad with V8's and lots of time on my hands I drove a bit harder and some times to breaking point, but things were more easily fixed.

I gave you a bum steer.The video was infact shot at Lucky Bay,its just south of Kalbarri near Wagoe.
I would still pencil in a couple of nights at Horrocks on the way up.People camping either side of us were doing the same.

I have briefly looked at being able to display the transmission temp using a Scanguage. My efforts at looking through this came up with that there doesn't appear to be an existing sensor for transmission temp. I can't be absolutely sure of this as you would think that this would be monitored in the ecu somewhere. If someone has worked out how to read the transmission temp then please tell.

No idea about Scangauge but there is definitely a sensor for transmission temperature that is available in the Transmission ECU Live Values selection screen with the Gap iiD Tool.
