New battery at 2 1/2 years - covered under warranty?

If you are only doing short trips, the battery will not charge enough - if I don't do anything more than to and from work, I stick my D4 on the battery charger once a week. I have a pair of LED battery meters for the main and aux battery so that I can see how the main battery is going, then make sure I top it up before it gets down to the non-starting stage (which has happened twice to me)
I have shown my wife how to "jump start" the car from the aux battery, just in case it does it to her one day.

Edit - not saying this is the problem, just my experiences :rolleyes:

Are these roadside assist guys properly load testing the battery or just throwing a meter on - 12v mate she's right! ? Diesel engines are hard on batteries on startup.

Agree Meken, they did not do a proper load test on mine the first time, I was advised battery OK. Battery only replaced after second non start issue and me pushing them.

RACV have dedicated battery vans and those blokes seem to be a /bit/ more clued in than the general road side assist blokes.

Is MR a LR dealer now? If not, they won't tow it there unless you're paying ;).

Not many of the roadside battery vans carry the right battery for the LRs. Quite often they'd have a battery fitted to get the car mobile then they'd come into the dealership to have the right battery fitted.
