If you are only doing short trips, the battery will not charge enough - if I don't do anything more than to and from work, I stick my D4 on the battery charger once a week. I have a pair of LED battery meters for the main and aux battery so that I can see how the main battery is going, then make sure I top it up before it gets down to the non-starting stage (which has happened twice to me)
I have shown my wife how to "jump start" the car from the aux battery, just in case it does it to her one day.
Edit - not saying this is the problem, just my experiences :rolleyes:
