I have done nearly 50k km in my MY14 in 18 months and it continues to exceed expectations. Is the consumate daily driver, tow vehicle, load carrier and off road vehicle in one package.

Can't think of too much I would change really.

    Cheers
    Chris

It has been enjoyable reading all the positive feedback and proves the point that we generally don't post after good experiences but do so whenever something goes wrong and we need help. Therefore you can be mistaken thinking D3/4 have lot of problems, which is not the case. My D3 (bought second hand from a knowledgeable person who had sorted most of the known issues like stop lights ETC) hasn't let me down in 2 years and has provided me with daily enjoyment.

I have an ongoing interesting conservation with my FIL who watches the commercial news and proclaims that the world is going to the dogs..... When actual fact is that the world generally is a better place to live than ever. My usual reply is that news stories about: 'Man/Woman goes to work and lives good productive lives while raising 2/3/4 kids that are well behaved and grow up to be good people' just doesn't rate as well as: Dead beat meth addict has clan lab explode in back shed.' But the reality is that most of society is just getting on with life and that each generation is better of than the last.

    Same goes for cars.....me thinks.

Have taken mine off-road on difficult tracks many times. So far only niggle was the hesitation when taking off, which was fixed with a software update in the first 6 mths, and at the time, not being able to get decent off-road tyres for 19" rims.

    Faultless experience?

I made the ones on my D2 myself, and they look and function as well as anything else I've seen on that model.

But those "shiny bad boys" do look nice ....................

One of my mounts in the pass side is rusting! So clearly not all stainless steel. (Currently waiting on an answer on what LRA are going to do about it)
I'd be interested in a close up of how you reinforced the mount?

    PS - LOVE the D4 !
