It just so happens I needed to use the satnav this arv so I recorded my entering the input
My SE seats are what I'd call Euro-firm. Typical of leather seats in Euro cars.
Only complaint I have is that I don't reckon the adjustable lumbar support holds for very long. But generally don't need it.

Hi all
after the fiery demise of my beloved D3 HSE I now have a base model 2010 D4 TDV6 and coming from the D3 all I can say is I find there is a huge difference in the level of comfort between the D3 HSE and the D4 std seats.
As this car will be kept for some time is it possible to upgrade the D4 seats?
Regards
Bob
Thanks for all the replies.
I do enter the town first. I just am used to the speed of iPhone I guess although I think my in car system lags more between entries than in the video meken put up. When I first used the BMW X5 gps I thought it was gimmicky but in no time I was navigating through the system very fast with hardly looking at it. I just think LR dropped the ball on this considering the tech with the rest of the car.
I have the base model and was wondering about differences between models as I test drove an SE with 100000km on the clock and remember thinking it was very comfortable. Maybe I need to wear my seats in?
I still think they are pretty flat. I used to have a gen4 VW R32 that had the hardest seats I have ever sat in but they were also the most comfortable.
I find after about 4 hours in the disco I get numb legs, might have something to do with lack of all but basic seat adjustments?
I'd love to know if there is a not too costly way of upgrading at least the driver seat (selfish I know)?
I have a 2013 SDV6 and find the GPS so slow its next to useless and the IPhone connectivity a joke. With a crook back I find the firm, electric seats fine.
I have read somewhere on here that the non-electric seats are not the same as the electric ones in terms of comfort.
Cheers,
Sean

Yet to put 20000ks on my MY14 Ive had from new, almost there.
I enjoy the firm chairs,I believe they have softened up under my fat butt
I suffer from a bad back, yet can easily cover 700km in a day and still be fresh,I believe it will grow on you.
I didnt get a GPS as they were renown for being a waste of money,a $170 Tom Tom is more usefull unfortunately.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

My original D4 was MY10. It was an SE with non-electric seats. They were a bit hard on the arse and my wife often complained about their comfort.
My MY13 SE has electric seats and they are noticeable more comfortable than the older car's. I think the leather is a bit softer too. The old one's leather felt pretty heavy duty, the MY13's feel softer to the touch.
I have the MY14 poverty pack with leather seats. Problem was solved with very good quality sheepskin covers.![]()
