OK to add one more to the mix. At the Adelaide Caravan & Camping Show I had a look at a Safe-T-Tyre TPMS. Has a drop and hook feature for towing and they reckon no additional antennae is required. External sensors with locking system and suction mount. Priced around the mid to high $400's by the sound of it when you ask for a price they talked $500 but seemed happy to negotiate. Sensors can be coded to any location so a spare can go on any tyre

I looked at these guys a while ago. It's interesting that they don't advertise their price on their website. Just about every other brand I've looked at does. It's very similar to a couple of brands being sold on eBay - Axis $295 and ABS Sidewinder $370. I rekon they are all re-badged Chinese import. Alibaba and Aliexpress have them cheaper again if your willing to order 1000 units!! Doesn't mean they aren't any good though. I wouldn't know.

May I ask what the cost of the "factory" TPMS system was? Am picking up my D4 TDV6 this weekend but it does not have TPMS installed and would be keen to add it. Ta

Lots if I recollect albeit close to the same for a high quality aftermarket system. Call your sales person who will be eager to help

Have you read further back in this thread? There's some stuff on retrofitting

I'll just cut/paste what i wrote earlier with a few highlights in bold;

Honestly I don't know what it cost him, I just did the CCF edit for him.

Hardware was the 5x sensors in the wheels, and the 4x initiator antenna in the wheel wells.

Looking at UK list prices the TPMS wheel sensors are about $120 each and the initiators something like $20 each, but I just saw a set of four new sensors on ebay.uk for 50 pounds. They are the same sensors on various LR models and Jags too.

Just make sure you get the right frequency. The 2014 FL2 used 433Mhz sensors. Some older models used 315Mhz. I think all 2014 onwards will be using 433Mhz but don't quote me on it lol.

So at the most, maybe $200 in hardware if you can find the wheel sensors cheap?

Sales person? As in a Land Rover sales person? Um...

The LR dealer that my mate bought his car from swore black & blue that it was impossible to fit TPMS to the car, it had to have been done in the factory, because the wiring was missing.

Then after he found the wiring in the wheel arches, and got hold of the factory wiring diagrams to confirm, they told him "no, it cannot be activated in the software" which is kind of true, Land Rover dealers aren't allowed to activate it, they are locked out of that function.

So I doubt very much anyone at a LR dealer will be able to help you.

As long is the wiring is there (as I believe it is on MY15 onwards), it can be done, just not by a LR dealer.

That's looking from the outside off the wheel arch liner.

Did you have to remove the wheel arch liners to see these? Looking at mine from the outside (view from wheel), all I can see is the plastic wheel arch liner. Curious! My build date is Oct 2014 VIN FAXXXXXX, which I thought from your descriptions should have the TPMS prewired?
