    Re map for D4

Has any body done or know about the benefits of a remap of the computer for a 3 litre D4. Alternatively, is a Power Chip the way to go?

I have been told that it will give me a 30% power increase which would come in handy when towing my 24 foot van around the block, aka Australia.

What are your experiences or thoughts and suggestions?

    Chappo.

I'd be rethinking that idea, have a read of this thread:

Also change the oil every 10,000 / 12,000k.

    Yes engine- 10,000 / 12,000k
Auto - every 50,000 for me

I would be more concerned with a remap fast forwarding the cracked inlet manifold issue.

Same manifolds that are on the 2.7V6 yet it's not an issue on that motor, says something about boost pressure in the manifolds, why would you want to risk it even earlier?

    Thanks Guys,

This is exactly why I posted. Having only recently returning to the Disco Fraternity I appreciate the comments greatly. A 30% boost in power sounds great, but having already had the motor replaced, under warranty, because of the over filling of oil by the dealer, I am certainly hesitant to do anything which may cause or contribute to additional problems.

I will run it by the people who suggested the re-map and get their response.

    Chappo

If I ever decided to get a remap done, I would certainly update the manifolds to the latest revision first, which adds around $900 to the cost if you replace them yourself.

Or just wait to see if they pop?
Is it in any way a given that a remap will result in overboosting? I thought a lot of it was injector timing etc, not just pumping more fuel and air into the engine...
