Tonight I put warm beers/wine/champ in the engel for the easter trip, ciggy lighter was reading 12.4V with the engel on freeze.Put the CTek on the aux battery, charge went up to 13.4v on the ciggy lighter.
I like to run the engel on fridge/freeze for a couple of days before a trip with the CTek connected.Gets all the drinks ice cold,I put some ice bottles in the freezer compartment.Tends to use less power whilst away if its fully cooled down before the trip.

Makes sense Andrew but wouldn't you plug the Engel into mains power for the freezing/chilling phase? Why use the car system when there is a 240v power point in the carport? i also read that running the Engel in the car while the CTEK is on is not best practice, something about the cycling of the Engel disturbing the readings of the charger and preventing it from moving through the charge cycle. ?

Yep. Before going on a trip, I load the fridge and run overnight on 240V mains power, then just switch to 12V when about to leave.

When at home and only using the Disco on short runs around town, I plug the CTek into the Anderson plug at the back of the car and leave on overnight once every couple of months or so - this tops up the charge in all three batteries - but I never run the fridge while doing this.
    Cheers .........

What was the software update number you got Andy
Also if you read this Tim what do you think?
Just went looking for the paperwork, wasnt in the wallet where I expected it to be.I distinctly remember passing it to Deb and asking her to put it in there when we picked it up from the service. Will see if I can find it in the house

A bit off topic, apologies to the OP

The concreter who has been doing some work for us has a late model ranger. It doesn't get used a lot,and he was have trouble with flat batteries, low charged battery, etc.

While on holidays in the NT,he had a guy change some software in the vehicle, and has never had a battery issue since. The change was done 12 months ago.

Maybe someone could develop one for the D3/4.
But the way LR do things,if a change was made it would probably cause all sorts of issues.

Aus.I found my reciept, where I left it,was less than 1 meter away from the puter all this time

There isnt a number for the upgrade on the reciept,it says."Carried out fault tracking for low battery light coming on.Tested battery, all OK.Carried out Gateway Module Software upgrade, customer to monitor"

I think it's this one Andrew:
    TSB LTB-00667-NAS-1 or TSB LTB00667v2
    Gateway module (gwm) software issue

I noted a VIN range of 698741-726591 when this was written up in a previous thread.
This is the same TSB mentioned by aus86inch

I have only had the low battery warning once since the upgrade. It was after a near 6 week spell.Despite the warning and the 6 weeks it started fine.
