Did I read somewhere that the oilers are single turbo?

If so, won't there be a turbo lag issue or can that be easily defeated and still have a high power/torque ratio further up the rev range?

I'm familiar with the variable vane concept but thought there are limitations when pumping out big numbers, thus the current models having two turbos.

There is the technology out there now for electric turbos, so a large turbo can be used with no lag. The electric just assists when off boost to keep it spooled.

That said, we probably would have heard about it if they were going to use one.

As usual, LR will change things after their first release D5s. It has always been like this, remember the first D$s and the subsequent changes. "Fools rush in……."

Since the Defender started life with Rangie bits, that's a step backwards
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
