The reverse wire there is sufficient to run a reasonable light without additional relays.
Have you upgraded your factory bulbs to LEDs first? Makes a big difference.
Hi, I'm wanting a better reverse light on the back of my RRS and was thinking - the white trailer plug should have a reverse wire and a power wire so why cant I use the reverse wire to the switch input on a relay and the power wire to supply power? All close and handy. So my question is - does anyone know the colour code for these wires and where they could be accessed in the rear of the car? How far out can you get the white plug when you take the screws out if accessing the back of the plug is the easiest option? I know I'm lazy and could just take the plug off and see but if someone here has easy answers....... Thanks in advance.

If you google trailer plug wiring you should find it or look at the electric trailer brake fitting sticky post by sneigy - I'm sure there's a wiring diagram in that post
Pin No. 1 (very top pin) on a 12S socket is for reversing light. See link below for standard wiring diagrams for 12S and 12N sockets.
