    Mirrors Dip in Reverse

Why don't my mirrors dip down in reverse?
    The manual suggests they should.
    Llams shows settings correct.
    Am I dreaming they should?

You have to set them up how you want them. From memory (it's been a while) you have the engine running, put the car in reverse and then manually, using the buttons adjust them to how you want them. Next time you put the car into reverse they should dip to the position you set them at.

On a D3 it's in the SETTINGS on the message centre of the dash.

Push the i button on the indicator stalk to activate.

I actually don't have mine dip as I prefer to look at what I am about to run over rather than watch it come out from under the wheels

Same here - I'm glad my mirrors don't dip in reverse.

A couple of loan cars I've had from the dealers recently (Evoque and Disco Sport) both had dipping mirrors - I didn't like it at all. I suppose it might be different though if you also had a reversing camera and were in the habit of looking at the screen to see what is behind you - before you see it come out from under your wheels in the mirrors.
    Cheers .........

I am confused about how Llams fits into this function?

    Good pick up Scott.
Its the IID Tool. Too much technology.
I was able to activate mirrors dipping.

Isn't it a trim level specific option?
You may not have the control units to drive the function.

Agree with others that it's a function that doesn't appeal after experiencing it in a loaner Evoque.
Sometimes gadgetry is there for no reason other than to confuse and mystify some, and bedazzle others.

    Hi,
I dip the mirrors with the toggle switch to back up the drive at home. Pity it is only a Corolla.
The Defender mirrors give a good view and won't adjust any way.
    Cheers

FWIW I really like the function. I have set it up so I can see the rear wheels and bumper. I mostly use the rear view camera. If you increase reversing speed the mirrors will raise back to normal position and dip again when speed is slowed again.
    Cheers, Mungus.
