Not that fast, been talking and viewing for a few weeks, but this one appeared and was at the right price over the weekend. Then I moved fast
As far as accessories go:, bullbar had taken a hit and won't be suitable for D4, nor dual battery, cargo barrier after accident is compromised as far as I am concerned, snorkel was no name and probably took a hit on the roll over. LLAMS would be OK but the car is too far away for me to go and get it out. As for the long range tank, there was some diesel leakage after she rolled, may have been the hose connecting the auxiliary to the main, but since I can't get up there right now, I don't know. Again could be compromised (although unlikely).

Snorkel, rear wheel carrier and slider/stand off bars were part of insured value.

I will start with a clean slate and go new. Might also add GOE 18s when the OEM wranglers start to go.

Basically the fun of determining what i need etc.

I am thinking of spending the money on a plastic wrap. They are quite effective and the D3 was incredibly pinstriped, might be worth paying for some protection. I am open to any suggestions on this subject.

    Cheers

Totally agree with this, it's one of the best things.

<This thread> has a few wrap options as well as the temporary paint-on products for pin-striping protection.

I have had the rear wheel arch flares wrapped to protect against stone damage for $150.

They stock and use both 3M and Avery products but recommended a different product as the best for a clear protective film.
    Hexis Skintac HX20000

Apparently it lasts longer and is able to self-heal to some extent. I was told that most scratches in the film can be removed with the application of hot water but that is unproven at this stage.
However, I have removed some light pin-striping scratches with polish when polishing the whole car and they disappeared from the wrap. I know not the same as a full wrap but does inspire some confidence.

It is virtually invisible once applied unless you look very closely.

    G'day Kev,
Yeah a good camp fire yarn. Definitely not keen to repeat it just to prove it can happen. I think my daughter said it all once she had digested the pictures.
"If Mum was still alive she wouldn't talk to you for week. Shout and swear at you, but not talk."

The new toy is very nice

Mike, was it just the tranny that was shot? Or did it have other mechanical issues as well?

Some nice bits on that if it goes cheap.
He did say the tranny cooler blew mixing oil/coolant.This is common on BA/BF falcons,if it isnt driven MUCH after its a clean oil/flush/clean oil and all is good.If its driven alot it does stuff the tranny.Given the problem occured on the day the tranny may well be OK.

LandyAndy, I've got someone who's looking for an engine and tranny. I personally wouldn't take the chance on that transmission, with nearly 200k on it, and a gut full of coolant.

But, there's a few other bits on there that may be worth a shot.

No, there were no other mechanical issues. 199,500 kmon the clock and running well. Then bang the cooler blew. It is not a common issue, but has been known to happen. I would have been up for new/rebuild tranny - about $7000. I could have lived with that - loved the car
