    Another same oppinion

As others on here, I fitted the 18inch compomotive rims sourced through Green Oval see pictures attached with 265/65/18 AT tyres.

I only noticed slight rubbing when cornering tight & very hard and the suspension is pushed down one side, then only momentarily for a second. Otherwise everything is great.

I fitted adjustable rods for use on very uneven terrain but they don't get used massively and car is adequate in most cases in the std off-road height.

Finally finished the car off with bullbar, winch and roof-rack.

Thanks for that info Craig, another positive for the bigger profile wheels.

By the way your Rig looks great. Love pics

Ok. I am ordering the GOE rims just given Gordon the go ahead, now I have make a serious decision on tyres.

    It's still between BFG KO2 & D697.

In the BFG there's two size choices 285/60-18 & 265/65-18 one of them has a higher load rating the other has a higher speed rating? So which is better?

I would think the higher load rating as the vehicle will be loaded constantly with tools, fridge etc.

But then I'm no expert, I was hoping someone could establish the difference between what is better to go for. Cheers.

I am biased but go for the widest! My 285's have always been really good in sand, whether my previous D697's or the current K02's.

Because of the tread pattern the K02's are probably slightly narrower in the treads than the D697. They have quite a step in on every second tread block so the average width is less I reckon.

My personal observation is that the K02's seem tougher and appear to have thicker side walls and much better side biters than the D697's. They both chip on sharp rocks (rear tyres only) but the rubber between the treads gets cut on the D697's and not on the K02's, comparing them from my last two trips on the Birdsville track and other rocky roads.

Wasn't there something on the news today about a ship loaded with Land Rovers due to arrive in Australia in 4 or 5 weeks or so.

Something about pirates, I think they said ................................
