    Control Arm Bush Remover

I am thinking of purchasing one of these. With the kit and the press it still works out cheaper than buying two control arms here. I figure I could earn a few beers with the number of D3s and D4s getting around these days racking up a few Ks. Has anyone used one.

Just for the record. Front Lower arm kit and press is about $1300.00.
    A complete front Upper/Lower & Rear Upper/Lower kit is about $3,000

Front Lower arms replaced at Dealer is $1200 inc new bolts, ball joints etc

Exactly. I figure my next car will be a used D4 so it will pay for itself. If i damage a control arm I think there are plenty of spares lying around the country with old bushes in them.

As I was brushed off by the Australian distributor I am dealing with them direct and the prices I have been quoted are significantly less than that. I am working on my iPad as I left my laptop at work but front lower arm kit with postage is $600 approx. The press which is not available until mid August is a bit more. If yo PM me with email address I will send you the quote. If I buy all the pieces to press every bush on the car it about $1200. I figured I will buy just the lower kit first.

Interesting, How much of that cost was labour and how much for the parts?

That wouldn't be arms either. Just bushes and labour. You do need a wheel alignment as well

I was quoted $1300 fitted incl. wheel alignment from Southern, Perth. That was without the discount Southern offer to TW4 members.

I ended up purchasing the controls arms from Southern, list price $467 each. With TW4 discount - $330 each. DiscoWA kindly gave me a hand to fit.

So $1200 all up from a dealer seems in the ball park from my experience.

Having a piece of kit that can do it over and over without removing the arm from the ca seems like a good investment to me. I know as soon as the bushes are changed I will take it in for a proper wheel alignment.
