    Territory TDV6 into Disco

    Hi All,

    Just joined the forum.

I am about to fit a Territory TDV6 into a 2009 D4. I see that some members have experience with the conversion. I did one earlier this year but the Territory engine was supplied largely stripped. The only things left on was the turbo and sensors. Almost everything had to be transferred from the old engine. All went well with that one. This time the engine has been supplied complete less starter and alternator.

Does any body know if I can keep the Territory HP pump, injectors and pressure sensors, EGR's etc? It would be nice I could because the new engine has only done 40K while the old engine has 400K on the clock.

    Cheers
    Alex.

    Yes is the answer.

If the D4 has knock sensors, they will need to be transferred over. Some of the EGR and PCV pipework needs to be swapped, as does the timing cover.

    Thanks Dave,

That is what I wanted to hear. I know that there are lots of things to be swapped including the sump. But when you pay $3400 for a 40K TDV6 it is well worth effort.

    Cheers
    Alex.

Just might be an aussie record. It is a one owner car that lives on a farm. It gets used in the paddocks as well as on the road. It was running sweet last week until it popped the front crank seal out on start up one morning. It left a 30Km trail of oil to where it stopped. The engine turns over freely but has lost compression. Looks like the pistons got too hot and grabbed the bores.

There is an early D3 tour vehicle based in Alice that would be right up there mileage wise.

Totally possible Dale, you just need to swap more bits from old to new.
