Not sure which engine is being talked about here, but my recent drive of a new D4 wasn't making me think 'it needs a remap' more of '**** this things got some poke!'
How fast do you want to do 0-100 in a 2.5 tonne vehicle? These things aren't short on power by any stretch...
Totally agree re the 3litre TT. I would personally be quite happy with its out of the box performance. If i had bought a 3.6v8 diesel l322 i wouldn't have bothered remapping it i don't reckon, although as a dealer i kind of 'have to' remap my own vehicle don't i? 😈
Certainly worth flashing the td6 , i towed a rusty old D1 25km today and boy it is a fantastic engine that M57...😃

Yeah, I agree, the power / torque of the standard vehicle is excellent, the improvement was a side benefit, the main reason I had mine done was to defeat EGR. Fuel economy gains are a widely commented on upside of shutting off the EGR so I was a bit surprised to have gone backward, but as I said it is what it is.
Aww I don't know. You don't always need it but at times it's nice to have. Mine-admittedly a RRS with 6 speed auto is now noticeably lag free. Using less fuel- just. But has same sort of get up and go that I so loved in the TDV8.
Any recommendations for where in Sydney i can get the TDV6 remapped?

I had my previous car (RRS 3.0) remapped in 2010 just after buying it, and the increase in grunt was noticeable. But I never had it on a dyno, so have no idea of the real figures before/after.
Unless the engine is removed to be tested then the measurements are derived from wheel measurements that have been adjusted for theoretical drive-line losses using formula and are really only good for comparing before and after modifications on that particular dyno machine.
Yes, I thought manufacturer figures were at the flywheel rather than at the wheels.
