Hi,
On my 130 cc, I put the isolator on the front wall of the battery box.
The key for the switch tucks down beside it under the floor matting.
From there I ran the cable back to the rear of the cab on the driver's side to meet up with a future battery installation under the tray.
Cables then go forward along chasis rails and up to a second isolator mounted in the engine bay, but the contacts are under the rh guard cover.
Then the cables go down beside the air cleaner box to the switching relays.
These are presently mounted to a light mount on the bull bar and need to be mounted else where so I can put some driving lights on.

I would definitely fit something to isolate it. I had my car broken into, they took my wireless winch remote (along with nanocom and my owners manual of all things, with my full service history) - I have no doubt they tried to operate the winch before giving up and moving on.
Worth it just for that in my opinion
Never fitted an isolator and don't intend to...
Even if it activates it can't do any damage on my vehicle (hook never kept attached - cable ties hold eyelet to the bar).
I haven't found an *affordable* isolator either that will handle a serious winching session...
