Still undecided if I will purchase a kit to swap them out myself or buy new arms for $610AUD delivered for 2... Can't afford to keep replacing bushes every 14 months so genuine are out. Bushes and new bolts alone are 270 aud delivered....

I see the Laser press is around $400 but with no attachments or hydraulic press, so it may not even do the job on a seized rear for example. . .

This would be nice is I had a spare $1500. Toledo 311022 Universal Bearing & Bush Hydraulic Press Frame Kit | eBay

Looks like i'll just be ordering new arms for the $610
You are welcome to come and use my 20T press if you feel like a trip to Bunbury.

When you're only getting 14 months out of the $430ea genuine it's no longer a viable option. Will definitely look into making something to press them out from now on though.

Genuine bushes are like $160 for both sides.

A press and a couple of hours and it’s done.

Russ I recall the genuine Lemforder bushes are quite cheap but direct OEM rather than LR branded. I think diy pressing with these bushes will be the best option after a couple of rounds and more so if you can share the cost of the press tooling with others.

$430 is for one complete assembly though. The bushes are $160 but the tool to replace them is $400 and comes with no press so you aren't guaranteed you will even get the things out then you also need the attachments. . .

The main bonus to going this way is the most vulnerable area the front LCA now have a 4 year warranty whereas when I buy the bushes individually it's 2 years. From now on I'll be sorting out a press and doing them myself though.

I thought difficulties with pressing bushes was a UK issue. There’s a few people on here who’ve used the Lazer tool without drama. It’s a threaded rod type action rather than hydraulic pressing.

    LRA LCA bushes

The best part of the press tool I have is it now has the mandrels for front and rear D3/4 and D2 ball joints also.. so it’s getting a bit of use to justify the initial outlay..

The up front purchase and the bushes the first time was cheaper than paid replacement

How long are LCA bushes supposed to last. My car's in for service and the dealer says that they need replacing at 26.6K kilometres. I hadn't noticed a problem but maybe that's just me, although I'm usually attuned to new noises etc.
