Looks great Mungus. I sized this unit up in this spot too and I'm planning the same thing. It's a bit tight for height, but should just work. I installed an ARB single compressor here in my old D3. Any chance of making a cardboard template of the final bracket

Any ideas yet for the airline route or outlet location?

How heavy do you recon the multi core should be? I assume it will just power relays in the back, but wondering if 1 core could be the brake signal wire for an EBC? (The ECB power wire will be much heavier)

    Another thought.
Especially for those with a Traxide Anderson system. Why not mount the compressor where the tow hitch lives????
    Dry,no heat,little dust,room for the hose.

Good thought. Might work for some Andy. Would be a pretty tight fit though. Don't think the twin would fit, especially if you have rear a/c like mine. I don't want the noise inside either.
    Cheers, Mungus.

I'll certainly make a template 9most likely a few attempts required here and take lots of pics, possibly draft something up of the final bracket.
Have not looked at outlet position yet and airline will most likely run down underneath on passenger side.
I haven't worked out the cable size or quantity yet either. I need to see how much space there when fitting the Traxide, but am thinking of running an extra 6B&S for relay power panel, four or five 1-1.5mm for relay control, plus two 5mm for future brake controller. Hoping this will accommodate any future desires as I want to limit the amount of times I pull this thing apart. Well at least while it's young.
    Cheers, Mungus.

Interesting idea putting compressor in tow hitch compartment.
What about ventilation, air for compressor in take.
    Is there enough fresh air?

More than enough... it's where the vents to the outside world are in the vehicle.

    On a slightly side note.

I use the line to the battery from the white tow plug to charge the battery via the towing electric socket with an adapter bought from the disco3.co.uk site.

I have a Big Red compressor that I currently attach to the battery to inflate tyres. Is it possible to connect it to the towing electric socket via the adapter and will it work? I usually have the engine running to avoid draining the battery. Would the socket be pushing enough power to run a compressor in this case?

Judging by the current draw (20A at 160psi) there is a good chance you can.
