But my question is the audio from iPhone GPS app.
I've never tried GPS app on the iPod plugged in to the socket in the console on mine (haven't downloaded any GPS app onto the iPod), but I have used the app on the iPhone, which links wirelessly with the stereo system. Have never had any problem with it working, including the audio. Only ever used in the city when I couldn't be bothered getting the Hema Navigator out and plugging it in - normally I run the Hema and don't use phone apps.
I have no sat-nav on my MY2015 Disco. BTW the GPS app does not run on the iPod, it is built for the iOS in the iPone or iPad. On your iPhone, when you have the car radio on, does the app (Google Maps or Apple Maps) fade down the radio and announce the directions? For me, when the iPhone is selected for music, the app direction voice comes on OK. The app allows a setting for the device to play as a phone call, this registers as a call on the speedo, but no audio to be heard!
There is another version of the adaptor the WMA3000 which has a usb plug and a stereo plug.
I have not seen this one in action so may not work.
For mine MWA1000 with the older ipod cable any sound from the iphone comes through.
I use apple and google maps sometimes as I haven't bothered to update the D4's inbuilt NAV.
When connected all the steering wheel control works just like it would with an old ipod connected. even works with streaming services like Spotify etc.
Very happy with mine. great solution for the older D4's with the ipod connection
How chuffed was I to hook up the WMA1000 today and confirm my Samsung S5 could happily connect to both it and the Land Rover bluetooth phone. Has made me ridiculously happy to know I can stream music, GPS navigation etc and also get phone calls through the built-in hands free.
