Why can't someone produce a good (legal) steel wheel? Works fine for every other make/model out there.

Not a bad looking rim at all with some decent rubber fitted. Rims are 17" x 8.5" wide.

I never realized until recently that the Disco and the Amarok run the same stud pattern. Shaun showed me a photograph this morning of an Amarok running Disco 3/4 18" rims (same ones that are on my D4). You need to fit a hub adaptor (VW hub is smaller than LR) and get special wheel studs that are compatible with the D4 rims (the VW uses studs and not nuts).
These rims would fit easily onto the Disco if you machined out the hub centre to large enough hole to fit the LR hub - it is a bit too small now for wheel to go on properly. Wheel offset is a bit of an issue - but that bothers some more than it does others. I don't see it as a major issue, provided there is not too much difference from original specs.Brake clearance is certainly not an issue with the 2.7 Disco, and I don't think it would be an issue with the 3.0L models either. There is plenty of room there, but until I actually saw one of these wheels fitted to the front of a later model Disco, I can't be sure that they will clear the caliper. Would be great if these could be machined / modified by the manufacturer to fit the Disco - they are a bloody good looking rim and considerably cheaper than currently available alternatives for the Land Rover. These were produced as part of a "group buy" arranged on the Amarok forum - once they got enough confirmed orders, they tooled up and machined the rims to suit the Amarok (it was not previously a standard product that they offered for the Amarok).
They certainly look the goods on the Dak Dak ute though ............................

You reckon 17 or 18 would fit the 3.0L?
Fair enough wonder if it's worth presenting to the manufacturer pretty sure we could get a decent level of interest to make it worth their while
In progress or dead end?
I guess enough numbers could help though. Look forward to hearing outcome. Cheers
