Justin, what's wrong with a remap that brings a TDV6 tune up to an SDV6 tune? I would have thought this is a reasonably safe option in the 3.0L.

Not mixing up early TDV6 which is SDV6 spec which is what I think he means.

    From his earlier message:

My question relates to the late model designation for the 3.0L, which is the topic of this thread (refer first post).
The same engine has two tunes, known as TDV6 and SDV6 for the later models.
As I understand it all hardware is the same just a different tune, hence my question.

I agree with Justin regarding remaps going well above factory tunes; inherent risk.
But if a tune is ok from factory should be ok via a remap.

My SDV6SE MY11 remapped by Roo Systems to their "Towing and Economy" tune. Much better throttle response, no "hesitation" when pulling out into traffic as per factory tune and much improved bottom end torque.

Have run this map for about 20,000km now, no issues. Oil service every 10k. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Supposedly lower EGT's, I will try to get a screen shot from the code reader next time I remember and post.

I've had 2 Roo tuned 3.0 ones with distorted turbo flanges, broken studs and leaks everywhere. So much for factory EGT monitoring....
