Dead battery!

I was going to suggest going to an alternative locally available battery to get you going but didn't.

Mine went to 3V over night at Katherine Gorge Caravan Park. My Traxide USI 160 wouldn't connect due to the low voltage so I was initially stuck. A ranger came a bit later and tried to jump start it. After about 15 min with jumper leads on there was no sign of life but I tried the USI 160 again and it connected, probably due to the extra voltage supplied by the jumps. It started with the two batteries to help it and drove OK so I did a non stop to the LR dealer in Darwin who supplied the OEM battery at enormous cost (over $900 I think). It then worked OK for several days until I finally got time to replace the battery. Still no idea why it went from perfect one day to nothing the next and then OK again.

I would get a proper replacement of the correct size and type while in Perth if I was you. The battery is critical on these cars. Also get the alternator checked ASAP.

If you decide to get one when you get to Perth:

Battery Supply Perth: Goodchild Enterprises in Bibra Lake have been good for me. They are wholesalers so price is OK. I've seen the same battery for double the $$ in Battery World.

My Bro just got a replacement yellow top from them for his second battery,$280 was what I'm sure he said he paid.
