I have a small GME unit with remote head controls.
It is mounted right up under the dash above the steering Colum.
There is a sort of flat panel under there with slots in it, I let the head sit in the rubber lined tray thingy in front of the gear lever.
The GME unit is fairly small & light though.

I'm looking for HF Radio not UHF, already have a GME UHF mate, thanks anyway.

Are you considering a set for use with a service such as VKS737 where you pay a fee to use the service on a few difference frequencies or for an amateur radio for which a licence is required but gives you access to several bands of frequencies and output power dependent on the licence class?

Nowadays why not purchase a Sat phone?
They have become more affordable and the service price cheaper.

A mate of mine had HF and has ditched it for a Sat phone.

Yes we looked into a Sat phone, and with the deal for this HF it works out a lot cheaper, plus we have a SPOT and EPIRB along with us that we carry all the time anyway, the SPOT is really good for location and sending messages to let them know where we are and we are OK.

So after a chat with Michael we will go ahead with the HF, if it is still for sale that is.
