Did you read the pdf? It will work on all D4s exactly as written. And yes, with the camping mode switch on, opening any door at any time will not set off the pre-ignition sequence.

Nothing to do with reading the PDF, which I did read
i have spent years camping out of the D4 and can assure you that with the rear door ajar, one or both makes no difference and the fronts totally closed if you then open a front door the whole car wakes up with all the pre-ignition sequence so therefore putting a switch on one door will not work as suggested
whether the trick with holding the centre button on the front light for 5 seconds i don’t know as I haven’t tried it so maybe that’s the difference
Hang on. Are you confusing the interior light operation (which, as you say, can be toggled on/off) with the pre-ignition sequence? The two are not related. I can positively, absolutely and categorically state that once a rear door has been left ajar (or the camping mode switch set to on) and the initial pre-ignition sequence has timed out (about three minutes), then opening the front doors will not trigger a pre-ignition sequence. Opening a front door will, however, operate the interior lights (if toggled on - I always leave them toggled off) and the puddle lights which is most annoying.
I installed the camping mode switch in July 2024 before my last Simpson crossing and various other trips and it works as per the pdf.
It's possible that your 2013 D4 is programmed differently to my 2013 D4. The wiring will be the same, but perhaps yours is configured differently somehow.
I’ve installed a “camping switch” exactly as per DieselLSE guideline to my 2014 D4. The switch on a single door that mimics “door open” signal prevents all system wake-ups when any other door is opened or reopened after the initial sequence times out. Works perfectly and is one of the best mods I’ve done, always found it really annoying to have to keep a door slightly ajar while at camp. Note that I only ever had to keep one door ajar, any door, and no other door opening would set it off so the behaviour now with switch is the same, just that you can fully close all doors and open at will. Just need to remember to turn switch off when you want to lock the vehicle
