Anyone claiming to do a tune on a vehicle - that the factory takes months to do - in just a few hours... is full of it [emoji6]
Tweaking a couple of fuelling tables as opposed to timing, fuel and smoke tables isn’t a good tune.
And whilst they may have perfected the Toyota gear, the Discovery needs bench tuning, how do they propose to do that on the dyno?

ive had the Roo Systems “Tow and Economy” tune done just before Christmas, after talking to them at length and friends that have had the same done. It’s a desk tune, the ecu is removed from the car and the tune file uploaded after the parameters are send to their office in Brisbane.
Cost was $1250
They have a 30 day money back guarantee and 5 year warranty, if anything goes wrong with the tune they will redo at no charge. They will also redo the tune up to 3 times in case the ecu is RE flashed, say during a service at LR. All settings are within safe engine parameters.
so far I’m very happy with it, lots more power and noticeable increase in torque, especially off the line. (Try “sand mode” and Sport manual shift at the traffic lights, heaps of fun).
towing our 1.6 t camper was never an issue, but with the tune it was even better, hardly noticed it was there, overtaking is effortless.
However I will talk to them again RE EGR valves.
i still have standard exhaust, I’m told with the 3” system it gets even better....Have to be good this year, maybe Santa will put one under the tree...
If it’s done at a LR Dealership they will most likely do a body off. Mines going through that now for the second time for a suspect EGR issue. A lot of people say it has been done without B.O. though.Quote:

Hi Eric, did you do any fuel economy calculations before (not from the trip computer) and will you do any after to see if the tune has made any difference. I have certainly seen some significantly different [bighmmm]claims for performance and fuel economy changes after these ECU updates. My experience was slightly worse fuel economy after the remap which included EGR defeat.
Be interested to hear your perspective.

This was done with a bigger exhaust and snorkel. Hopefully the rest of the car can deal with the new output.
