Thread: Replacement battery for a D4

I got 5.5 years.... lots of short daily runs with very long runs every 2 weeks.

Have 2 Optimas hanging off the Traxide which has helped extend life, as well as a Charging plug I flick into the White 12S every now and then to give them all a good top up.

Just started having no-start scenarios (USI-160 jump feature to the rescue) so went and sourced an Odyssey as a replacement.

What a cracker (I've used them before so knew what to expect) and it's proven the best battery upgrade!

Being able to take huge inrush current means it recharges far, far quicker so short runs have it happy...

On a long run, the primary is fully charged and the Optimas topped right up in a very short distance...

One of the best bang for buck changes [emoji41]

What was the cost of the Odessey battery?

I replaced my OEM L/R battery with a Battery world one (can't remember the brand at the moment), but not sure it was the best decision.
Going ok after 2yrs, but had a no-start issue recently when camping, after running my 2nd battery down too...
Hasn't happened again, but not very keen on repeating it...

Mine is still on the original, so that's 3.5 years now, never had a battery warning, I do have a Traxide system and yellow top Optima along side, so I guess you could say I am wearing out 2 batteries

Trying to work out correct battery .....

In one listing it says the PC1700 suits Land Rover:
ODYSSEY PC1700 AGM DRY FIT BATTERY BMW AUDI LANDROVER JEEP PC1700MJT DEEP CYCLE | eBay
    PC1700
    CCA 875
    Capacity 68Ah

In another the PC1350 suits Euro vehicles:
    ODYSSEY BATTERY PC1350 DRY FIT AGM BATTERY BMW M3 M6 X5 X6 530 740 MERCEDES
    PC1350
    CCA 770
    Capacity 95Ah

The Odyssey website doesn't seem to cross-reference the PC*** part numbers when you put vehicle details in.

I think the OEM figures are 825CCA and 90Ah ?

    Cheers,
    Scott

Keying in the details on odysseybattery.com for an LR4 2015 model it returns the Performance series battery rather than the Extreme.

    PC1350 is the correct unit..

And with a Pulse current of 1350a it's more than capable..
Never heard the vehicle spin over so easy!

My battery has also just died after 3 years 11 months and i am keeping things going with my Traxide. Tell me this can't cause any issues can it??? I want to hold off getting a new Battery until later in the year when we go for a big run across to Perth and back through the Great Central Road and Flinders Ranges.

Why wait until then, risking being stranded somewhere around town? A new battery will last for years, so will definitely still be OK when you come to WA. You'll also be certain it is good, having tested it for a while before starting the drive.
