Thanks for the update Tombie - I still have this on my eBay watch list so that when the time came for my existing battery to be replaced I was going to try the Odessey, especially with the original positive reports.

I have done some research lately.
My undestlanding is that
If you do not have concerns for leakage, then AGM is not a cost-effective option ,compared to sealed lead acid.
If you want to mount the battery upside down, then yes..go AGM.
I recently replaced mine with a Varta unit (lead acid. The factory battery is also a varta lead acid. Excellent choose land rover made, I would say. (Okay she is a defender...Not a D4
Btw I believe both Bosch and Varta are made in the same factory, I think by Johnson controls? At least that's what is written on my Varta silver dynamic
Cheers
Except LR are replacing with AGMs under warranty!
Benefits include - quicker uptake of charge (short trips are murder on batteries)
Higher pulse current.
No outgassing to cause corrosion or damage.
Less susceptible to plate damage.
On a lesser occasion I’ve even seen WLA batteries killed when they drew water in during a deep immersion. Something SLA AGMs won’t do.
Lots of benefits [emoji41]
I have always fitted the largest I can get in the tray.
