RE Led trailer lights another concept

    Hey guys
I have read the threads pertaining to the load resistors and I am impressed by various members advice, designs and executions of the basic circuit.
I was getting ready to amass the parts thinking the most important part is the heat sinking capabilities of the enclosure. The metal encase lr12 resistors are only 50W if they sink the heat
so the box is important ( i read on one ebay sellers site that these resistors can get up to 173 degrees)
I considered the box, the panel mount socket the lead out etc and the complexity then I thought..
Why not just wire in 2 bulbs (on the blinker circuit) in the trailer somewhere and just be done with that?
    Has anyone done that?

That won't stop the LED flashing issue.

The harness adapter isn't that complex.

Are we talking a D3 or D4 there Nick?

    The flickering is D3 specific.

could someone clarify terminal numbers on colins schematic please

Hi there could someone clarify the schematic wrt to relay terminal numbers
The circle that says "Plug" is that coming in from car?
The output from the relay the bit that goes from each relay to the LED light.. I assume thats out?
Just want to make sure I dont blow anything up
    Thanks

Been there done that. Didn't stop the quick pulse flicker.
Relay and load resistor the only answer for a D3

It's wired to the plug on the trailer. Yellow to terminal 2, green to 3. You could also wire them in at the lights themselves, it doesn't really matter. Don't fit them to the car side, as you may wish to plug in a trailer that hasn't LEDs fitted.

Isn't that what the diagram is for?

Yep, the diagram pdf is exactly how I rewired my trailer. I was lucky enough to have some room in the wiring junction box behind each LED light set to fit the relay and resistor. The resistor doesn't get hot, as the voltage is only pulsing with the flash rate of the car. But if I tow another LED trailer, it's a problem again, that's why most make a adaptor trailer plug box fitted between the trailer and car. Or modify the car wiring before the car plug.
