Use it but don't use the drive away feature, release manually. And get it adjusted yearly.
What about the other problems?

Scott
I was told this as have many others but proper cleaning/adjustment was all it needed. Search Google and find Bodsy's Brake Bible on Disco3. I made my guy do it as per this and it's been fine for years. I redid it myself when I changed brake discs. Not hard at all.
Others have even rebuilt the box with near plastic gears in a recent post.
All problems seem to stem from poor adjustment or using the drive-off feature.
The mechanic is an independent who specialises in Land Dovers - he even has an LR3 himself! I mentioned to him the various adjustment/cleaning stories on the web. He knew of these options and mentioned that the error codes indicated it would be an issue with the Module itself - which makes sense. IE not just noises but actual errors going through. Does that make sense?
At some point here I feel like an amateur reading around google trying to will my repair to cost less - and at some point cross a line.
But its also so much money!
I assume this is bought about by the drive off feature - we park every night on a sloping driveway and have used the drive off feature continuously :(
Not sure if I will push it anymore. He has helped us out many times, and fitted us in. I feel like trust is worth maintaining - its so valuable.
Oh - with the EPB,
I had thought, and this might be another long shot ... but I read that low batteries can cause all sorts of errors.
We went camping at Easter, and when we went to start the car to Leave, it took a while, and only just turned over.
Could this have done something to the battery - that resulted in error codes for EPB? But then I assume it would just be errors and not the screeching noise too?
Can we test the battery for health?
No harm in testing the battery but your EPB problem is real and not just a low voltage issue.

So was mine. The adjustment is very very specific like cracking a safe.
There is a new shoe bedding in procedure I bet you he will have never heard of (nor have LR Dealers)
Download the Bible and ask a few pertinent questions.
I very much understand they don't like to be questioned but trying a proper adjustment costs nothing to be sure.
I would summarise by saying screeching with sticking and dash warnings but if you can still get it to release it is all related to cleaning and correct adjustment.
