Only concern with the V8s is fuel consumption.
If that doesn't worry you they are great.
How about a D4 V8?
Plenty of power and torque, very luxurious.
I'm thinking of moving on to a new RRS.
I have a 2006 D3 V6 petrol which I've recently started towing with. Van Tare is 2300kg so around 3000kg when fully loaded. The V6 struggles a bit up the hills so have been thinking of upgrading to get some more power. To date have been looking at SDV6 D4's which definitely tick the power box but comes at a cost of $45k plus.
lt has occurred to me that perhaps a 2005ish D3 V8 might be a suitable replacement. Similar economy to the V6 petrol but significant step up in power and also seems like good buying at around $20k for a model with similar K's to the D4's I've been looking at.
Any reasons why the V8 would be a bad idea?
Any particular concerns with using the V8 for towing?

Nice car. Hadn't considered RR's. Something that may dictate my thinking is that with 3 teenage kids I may need to get something P plate approved as they will occasionally drive it. This pretty much excludes all V8 versions in Victoria.
probably back to SDV6's unless a 2.7 tdv6 would be sufficient.
Maybe a 2.7 with a remap. The D4 2.7 is cheaper. And you can disable EGR.
