Thanks guys went to another guy tonight , jacked up the front , yup front wheel bearing . Easy fix he told me don't get the cheapies as they have failed on him , now to source it . Do i do both or just the faulty one ?

I'd do both, the other mightn't be far away
I can confirm that anything less than the best fail. I had two bearmachs in a row fail within a few thousand kmsQuote:

Not sure which is the better option though, carrying them in case one goes or changing them all and hope that prevents failure.. 215k kms old now.

and just to add, when the turbo on a D3 is on its way out, it doesnt whistle.... its a metal to metal sound like a wheel bearing on its way out.
