Spoke to David and worked out that metal needs to removed from the bracing of the inner guard to allow the snorkel sit a bit higher and reach the holes, also the inner guard behind the filter box needs some massaging.
All done, no way I could reach the last stud to put a but on. I contemplated partially undoing the guard but I was spent after wrestling with the rest of it.

Well done! As I said that last bolt is bloody impossible. I guess you could remove the guard at the bottom and get access from the front of the drivers door. But 4/5 I think is enough to hold it in place. One thing I did to make sure it was all sealed was to block off the air with a plastic bag over the ram head. If everything is sealed the car should stall through lack of air. I waited 24hrs so the mastic had formed a skin.
D3 only uses 3 bolts and I could only get 2 nuts on.
On the weekend i got an email from British 4WD asking if i could send them some photo's of the install, and they sent me a refund of $30 so my snorkle was now only $190 [smilebigeye].
Buggar me!! I did all the ground work and someone else skims the cream!!! I guess I should be gratefull that mods on my previous vehicle were at a very low cost as I was the test dummy... Ha Ha
