Hi Scott,
Thanks for your input. The points you highlighted are exactly why I asked the question.

Any thoughts / ideas for a solution to using the white trailer connection with DIY indicator globe or circuit LED load resister?
Hi Graeme,
I have seen that video, I would of thought the LR Trailer Stability would always been on in the back ground as well, but having towed the new van for a couple of times now since I purchased, I'm not 100% convinced, as I have had a couple quite noticeable trailer sways where there has been no electronic help from the either the D4 or the van, as am new to towing a large van, I'm taking it easy, but I can see how easy it would be to get into a nasty situation quite quickly if you didn't treat it with complete respect.
I have found the 12 volt 21 watt LED Load Resistor in my Narva book ( Part Number 90034BL ) they cost less than $10.00, so will get one and give it a try, thanks for all the advice on the subject guys, I will let you know if it does the trick.

I have seen it Graeme but that's the only evidence (video's voiceover) I've found of it still being active without the trailer electrical connection.
Here's a still from the video that appears to show an electrical connection.

However, this statement comes from the Land Rover website:
"TSA is an automatic feature to assist the stability of a trailer when towing. If trailer sway is detected, engine power is gradually reduced and the brakes applied to help regain control."
So that's not 100% proof either way but I feel more comfortable with all towing functionality active, just in case.

I was sure that the video showed a close-up of the disconnected electrical lead but it's not in that video.
Maybe it's still active but not 'as' active like turning off the stability control in sand? It's still there but not as aggressive.
Or their marketing team got their facts wrong .... it happens .... I work in BD so I can safely say that :-)
I bought the box today .... just to be sure.
Cheers,
Kev.
Not sure Graeme but there's some good discussion in this old thread.
Trailer Stability Assist
It's still not 100% definitive but is interesting.
