Part number is FYC 500040. Pricy little buggers - remember paying about $7 for them ex dealer after one of mine disappeared into a black hole under the dash

I have opened the Register Panel Trim (at least that is what I think it is called) only to lose one of the clips. The panel is the one below the steering wheel illustrated in this photo (thanks WhiteD4 for this). Has a clip on either side The clip is circled.
Anyone know a part number or where these can be obtained? Is this the correct name for the panel?

You really should spend some time to find it. I have lost mine a couple of times and each time after much hand finger contortion, found it to be in amongst the wiring looms on the right hand side. Could imagine the sharp little thing cutting into wires and causing shorts etc.
I no longer lose them as I bent in the inner prongs (the small bits on the inner faces that bite into the plastic tab it clips over) and then applied a small amount of araldite to them. Actually covered them in araldite and filed off the small amount of excess.
Happy days!
Edit: I didn't cover the whole thing with araldite, just put a fair amount on the plastic tab then re-fitted the clips and let it dry for a day. There was one tiny bit that needed a touch with a small file. Solid as a rock and not going anywhere now. So good to know I can pull that panel down without the worry.
Cheers, Mungus.

Agree, happens every time and each time I've found them (eventually). One trick is to loosen the torq screws underneath enough to flex the lower panel. Usually they go left or right and will fall into foot well.
Supercheap auto sell knockoffs by the bag
The last time this happened to me I got a magnet and run it up the trim and hey presto up came the clip. Probably sheer luck so I'll try top be more careful next time....
