    Wipertech blades

By virtue of this thread i bought the wipertech set (front and rear) for $69.00 They are good.. I am just going to see how long they stay good for. I remember buying some Bosch for my skoda (Half the cost of Genuine Skoda) but the rub was they didnt last at all before they were crud.. maybe 2 to 3 months?
So for the record the wiper arm on drivers side should not have twist at all... it should be dead straight? Near the hook

You'll never get it just so. New arm fixed mine, silent again.

I've had Wipertech blades on since December, so say 7 months.
Performance would be qualitatively at maybe 80% of perfect which they were when new.

So, is the arm twisted along its length or bent at 180 degrees to the arm. Looked at mine today and there is a substantial twist in it.

Either way, you've got to wonder why that happens. Never noticed it before in other cars.

The end (last 3 inches from teh tip of teh hook) had a kink in it (bent in 2 directions). I made the whole thing straight and it didnt work. I suspect the thicker part of the arm must be bent too. I have absolutely no idea how this could have occurred. I made another adjustment this morning and it now wipes perfect with just a little bit of noise.

I will just put the new one on when it arrives and be done with it!

    wiper noise

Keen to hear your experience with the new arm. If it fixes it completely, I'll be ordering a new one!

By-the-by, have you had your windscreen replaced?
I had mine done, and found shortly afterwards (at 110km/hr in a rainstorm) that the wipers hadn't been fitted correctly. The driver side twisted itself and jammed whilst I was driving when it came on... Likely that a bend/twist could have occurred then, in my thinking.
I haven't visually checked it yet, though... Given that they don't 'stay up' like in the old days, I can imagine a windscreen technician inadvertently damaging the wiper during the changeout process....

New arm fixed my wiper "crack" noise.
Bent old arm and straight new arm in this photo.
