I have 2 kids in the rear and 2 in the middle. Removed the middle row drivers side seat from the disco completly to allow easier access to the back and it gives a little extra storage space.

We did the same in our Pathfinder. Excellent way to free up space/make space more usable. Also in a pathfinder my fridge fit quite sung between the seats and was handy for snacks. I expect we will do something quite similar with our D4. I anticipate putting the Engel in a small frame with a strong 'false' lid over the Engel lid, thus allowing the kids a platform to limb over and not destroy the fridge.

If you do decide to look at RWC - make sure you check out Rijidij as well as the others on the market , I can highly recommend his RWC .

I do like the revised RWC Rijidij has.
That said.... Once I get to spending that amount of money, a whole replacement rear bar is not much more $$ and I do like touch parking/4wding by brail and the rear bar could pay for itself. Which in fact may negate my original post ;-)

I look forward to professionals advice... But I know one side has a tank/compressor in the way. Also my sill tanks on my D1 on held a useable 40 ea. Far different from a possible 100L+ on offer from other vendors for the rear underslung tank.

Not for a D3/4, no room as the main tank is already in that space on the DS and air compressor on the other.

The last time that I saw prices the replacement bar with 1 wheel carrier was a lot more money. Furthermore it adds a lot of weight but useful if wanting to carry 2 spares or you're likely to drag-off the plastic bumper.

An alternative Engel fridge placement that I have used is to replace the middle second row seat with the fridge. Perfect fit. Replaced the seat 10mm bolts with eyebolts and 4 x ss turn buckles and short lengths of chain and the fridge becomes a solid, safe install, table and a separator between passengers in the second row. Just another view.

In my opinion the Long Range fuel tank and RWC is the most convenient and safest. Even the Playdough has this configuration albeit combined with a door that isn't anywhere as as convenient as the D4 rear tailgate and door!!!

I'd like to know the difference.
I recall thinking that the Rijidij new carrier is $1590, and the rear bar and two carriers was $3200.
