I dont own a disco, i own a defender puma. I have my egt sensor probe installed in the exhaust manifold (upstream of turbo). This is the most accurate location for the probe.
Now when im crusing on the highway at 110kmph i usually sit around 350-380 on my egts. As soon as there is a slight incline it starts moving north. The highest ive ever recorded was 612 up a very long uphill on a hot day and loaded.
455 up hill and 80% load towing seems too low, id expect north of 550.
Does the ecu calculate that or is that a measured figure?

The iidtool reads something from the can bus, but I don't know if it's raw data or manipulated.

Mine reads up to 80m when cold, 30m when hot... Yours reads less than 1... I don't get it.

Remember the figure is post turbo down the exhaust and thus will be much lower than cylinder EGT. The engineers will have mapped out the true cylinder EGT to this sensors position and will know what the values correlate to. The figure you’re seeing is useless in diagnosing engine tune and health compared to if you installed your own EGT in the manifold after each cylinder.
