To those who have had switch issues, was it a random occurrence or all the time ?

A random occurrence of faults and Xmas tree lights on dash. Reset and it might stay away a day or an hour.

Might have to check my switch too as I have the Xmas tree thing happening on the odd occasion. My D3 just clocked 517,500km (I got it 5 months and 6,500km ago), but I have no idea if this is the cause and if it due to be changed again. Will have a look when it gets serviced next month. Then again it is probably cheap insurance to just swap it anyway.

We have another Aussie 🥇Change Your Brake Switch Now!!

    You just made my day.

Sure that is the original donk?

Your engine has earned the right to have whatever hissy fit it desires.

Just starting in the morning is a minor miracle.

I'm unsure about the original donk (will have to check engine no. off Topix) but it was very well looked after before I bought it. As far as I know it was the workhorse of a small tour company with most of the mileage being runs up the West coast to the top end - so I think of it as taxi mileage, not city mileage. The next owners were the Baptist church for a couple of years and then I bought it late last year. The car is in very good nick (paintwork and interior) with only a few minor quirks needing sorting. The Indy I took it too was gobsmacked how well it drove and the great condition it was in. I know it will probably cost me more money to maintain in the long run than a similar Jap product, but overall I am very happy with it as it drives beautifully. Life is too short for boring cars as they say!

My D3 was originally owned by the Baptist Church in Sydney.

I meant to ask what engine it is?

Love to know if original gearbox - diffs - transfer box - wheel bearings also.

    Awesome.

It is a Sept 2005 build, 2.7L TDV6 diesel D3 SE and first registered in June 2006. When I bought the car the owner was on his way to Vanuatu to do missionary work and had most of his stuff packed ready to go. I knew him through work over the last year or so and gave him advice on servicing, etc plus getting onto AULRO, so I got first dibs when he decided to sell. His records over the last two years show the HPFP, lower control arms, transmission oil, EPB, and a few other things have been done in his tenure. The older paperwork from the previous owner was unfortunately packed in the container and I am hoping to get it sent across when he finds his feet. From the cars logbook I can tell it was serviced at two places (dealer and an Indy) so will be chasing up any other records I can from both of these. So that's all I know at the moment, but hope to fill out the history as time goes on (and time permits as I run my own business).

Since there can't be too many D3's with this high a mileage in this such good condition, I figure it's my duty of care to maintain it to the standards the previous owners have obviously lavished on it and will basically be flying the banner for Land Rover for high mileage D3's. That won't be a problem as I always take care of my vehicles anyway. When I get more of it's history I will post it in an appropriate section. But I will say this, if you maintain these cars (and obviously spend some $$ when required), they certainly hold up well and still drive beautifully.
