Good thread on cleaning MAP here > Cleaning a TDV6 MAP sensor
Be careful! Don't use anything except spray.
The 3.0L engine as 2 x MAF (twin turbo) next to the air filter box.
These are generally much cleaner than the MAP being well upstream of the EGR gear.
I agree that inlet cleaning is worth doing but I really doubt it's your issue Luke. I've never read the low fuel pressure error being associated with air inlet or MAP issues. Perhaps there's an intermittent issue with your fuel pump, either LP or HP, or a fuel pressure sensor.

Hi Scott
Thanks for the link, I’ve read that one carefully.
Are you saying you don’t feel like the MAP sensor would be my issue due to posts you’ve read on here or are you a mechanic?
If mechanic, I have heard the fuel pump sensor is not interchangeable, is that correct? So in effect it would result in either the high or low pressure pump
would you then have a suggestion of which to do first? Ie what’s more likely
There is a sensor on the fuel rail . Uk forums says changing that fixes error codes... these can be purchased from ebay uk. As for myself... cleaning the map with MAF cleaner as resolved my issues ... enough me to complete 1600km round trip with on and off road driving no issues... prior to that i was having the error daily. I am not mechanic... its just has worked for me...

Opinion, based on reading about the issues here and Disco3. The MAP sensor and other air inlet related issues produce different errors to the low fuel pressure one, which is nearly always fuel system related in some way. But most people have experienced a more repeatable issue, so yours is harder to diagnose.
Most people look at potential causes in order of expense with HPFP last due to $$$. As mentioned, there is at least one separate pressure sensor. There is a good thread on Disco3 for checking low pressure pump health which also provides a good summary of the overall fuel system [Guide to Low Pressure Fuel System.] I’d start there or get a mechanic to but the highly irregular nature of yours makes it tricky.
Cheers,
Scott

Thanks. It’s exactly what you said, so hard to diagnose since it doesn’t happen when you take it to the mechanics. I tried a few months ago and he said bring it back when it’s happeneing, which is near impossible unless it happens on his street!!
So this circles me back to my initial question, what would you all do personally if it was your car?
